To have your group's news added to our homepage, you must have a valid RSS feed for us to aggregate. The absolute easiest way to do this is use a service such as Blogger to create a blog for your group's latest news that will automatically generate an RSS feed we can read.
Alternatively, you can create your own RSS feeds fairly simply, download this template (right click the link--> save as--> XML file), then open the file with Notepad and replace the filler content with your original content, save it as "feed.xml" and upload it to your web server's root folder, then create a link to it on your home page.
If you are going to use the second option and create your own RSS feed, we ask that you please include a feed title containing your group's name or acronym. You would do this between the <title> tags in the first section of the template, under the "// Define the feed" note. For example, ours would look like this: <title>SELP Recent News<title>.
Finally, if you want your RSS feed to be included on our news feed you MUST have a timestamp on EVERY item you publish. This is not a problem if you use a blog service that automatically stamps your items, but if you have your own RSS feed you have to make sure that the <lastbuilddate> time is updated everytime you update the feed, and that the <pubdate> tag for each item contains a properly formatted date and time (follow the template, make sure to convert your times to GMT and use 24 hour format).
Once you have a properly formatted RSS feed, let us know and we'll add it to our homepage!
